On the 14th of November 2023, the NRW Research Data Day will take place for the third time. This year the motto is “Promoting and refining data: Bring your data treasure to light”. The day begins with a virtual joint morning program, followed by local afternoon programs, organized by the participating universities. The action day aims to sensitize researchers regarding RDM and to increase the visibility of RDM through various events. At RUB, we will present our new Research Data Management System and offer you a workshop showcasing how you can profit from Research Data Management and Open Science.

Morning

To start the NRW Research Data Day 2023 off we will have a joint online morning program including a keynote and various talks. All information regarding the presentations and registration options can be found here.

Afternoon

In the afternoon participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Research Data Management, learn more about location-specific solutions, as well as to network with the RDM community. Most of the presentations will be held online and are open to everyone interested. The afternoon program of all locations can be found here.

13:00 - 14:30h - How to profit from Research Data Management and Open Science – individual approaches during your research process

n this online workshop, we will show you how your research can be elevated through good Research Data Management and Open Science. Register for this workshop: Link

14:30 - 15:15h - RUB Research Data Management System

Good management of research data from the beginning of the research process, working together on collected data, sharing, publishing, and sustainably referencing research – all these things are possible with the research data repository RDM system from Ruhr-University Bochum. In this presentation, we will briefly explain and showcase the opportunities and functions of our RDM system. This presentation is open to everyone, besides members of RUB. 15:30 - 16:30h - Hands-on Workshop: All about the RUB Research Data Management System

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to try out the RUB RDM System and experience its basic functions firsthand:

• Create and label datasets
• Save data in datasets
• Share datasets
• Submit datasets for publication or archiving
• Searching for datasets
• Organizing datasets

Registration information:

Participants who are not members of the RUB, but want to try out the RDM system in one of our workshops will have to register through the Zoom link until 10.11.23 with their ORCID ID. An external account will be created for you, and you will be able to log into the RDM System through ORCID.org. Participants who are members of the RUB can use their LoginID to use the RDM System.
