EMPATHIA³

As an associate member of Empathia, it develops training courses in cooperation with the Arnsberg district government and in coordination with SABRA that support teachers in effectively countering anti-Semitism in schools and empowering them for anti-Semitism-critical education.

Training course ‘Antisemitism in schools - recognising, understanding and taking decisive action together’
This interdisciplinary programme is aimed at teachers from all types of schools (except primary schools) and combines face-to-face events with self-study and trial phases.
Objective of the training programme:

  • Building and deepening knowledge about anti-Semitism
  • Acquisition of pedagogical skills in prevention, intervention and repression
  • Support in the systemic anchoring of sustainable measures in schools
  • Reflection on own attitudes and stereotyping

The training programme is based on four central pillars:

  1. self-reflection
  2. imparting content knowledge
  3. development of practical knowledge
  4. promotion of knowledge relevant to school development

The programme extends over a school term and offers participants the opportunity to closely combine theory and practice. The training programme understands the prevention of anti-Semitism as the promotion of democracy and strengthens teachers' ability to deal with current challenges.

Further training for history teachers
Building on the cross-curricular training programme, a subject-specific programme aims to make history
