Total Internal Reflection (TIRF)/Epi Fluorescence Microscope Olympus IXplore TIRF

The Olympus IX83 inverted microscope is equipped with a TIRF module and enables both simultaneous and sequential use of TIRF, wide-field fluorescence, and transmitted light differential interference contrast (DIC) method. The system allows for excitation and detection of up to two fluorophors simultaneously, via projection of each fluorophor’s signal onto one half of the chip of an sCMOS camera. Alternatively, single-color TIRF can be performed using the bypass modus of the optosplit. Access to the instrument is open for any member of the Ruhr University Bochum after initial registration and training.
