reactive silicon species

We are interested in the synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of compounds with silicon in unusual coordination and bonding. Compounds investigated are silenes (silaethenes), silylenes (carbene analogues), silaimines, silaketenes etc. A new class of molecules developed in our group are the dioxasiliranes, the silicon analogues of dioxiranes.

Rearrangements between silenes and silylenes investigated by matrix isolation spectroscopy and DFT calculations.
