Oil lamps are a common type of find in classical archaeology. The Bochum collection comprises a chronologically and typologically broad overview of the development of ancient lighting, in clay and bronze. The range extends from early, simple pieces from the 5th century BC to decorated, multi-flame examples from the middle of the 3rd century AD.
