A special highlight of the Kunstsammlungen Antike is the extensive collection of Persian objects made of ceramics and bronze. The vascular ceramics cover a period between the late 5th century BC and the Islamic Middle Ages of the 9th to 12th century AD. BC and the Islamic Middle Ages of the 9th to 12th centuries AD.
In addition to the chronological breadth of more than 6000 years of ceramic Iranian cultural history, it should be emphasised that material from most Iranian regions is presented here. Thus, the collection of ceramic Iranica must be accorded a special significance in Germany and Europe.

Less extensive but of similar relevance is the collection of Iranian bronze objects, which focuses on the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age of northern and western Iranian cultural groups. The great breadth in the functions of the pieces presented gives a good impression of the spectrum of forms and decoration of Iranian metalwork.
The Kunstsammlungen Antike thus represent an exceptional teaching and display collection as well as extensive research material for Iranian cultural artefacts.
