Processing of the (student) autonomous »women and lesbian movement (s)« in the Ruhr area ”using the example of the RUB's Autonomous Women * Lesbian Department
Since its founding end of January 1979, numerous materials have been collected: leaflets, minutes, information brochures, event flyers, theoretical contributions and conference reports as well as "Spuckis" and a few posters. We sift through all the materials, systematize and calogue them for open access online research and the DDF's META database. Selected documents and 'gray' literature are to be digitized, and a chronicle of the most important cornerstones and events in the history of the unit will be created.
With the help of external funded project, important documents from the previously untapped documentation of the Autonomous Women * Lesbian Department of the Ruhr University Bochum are viewed and made accessible to the public with the help of various media forms.
On the one hand, the documents are indexed in a database and the metadata within the META catalog are usually (http://www.meta-katalog.eu/) made searchable for the public. In addition, legally clarified digital copies are imported into the META catalog and the DDF portal.
The »processing« takes place in the form of a scientific text contribution (essay) on the topic of "Autonomous» Women and Lesbian Movement (s) «in the Ruhr Area" as well as through interviews with contemporary witnesses. At the end of the project, a performance will be shown and filmed, which was developed on the basis of the archive material in the preliminary stages of the presentation.
The DDF is an internet portal on the women's and lesbian movement in Germany, through which the holdings of all German-speaking lesbian / women's archives, libraries and documentation centers can be accessed centrally and relevant specialist information on individual topics, actors, periods of time and events can be accessed directly .
It presents - unique in the German-speaking area - for the first time bundled digital copies, inventory data and further information on the history of the women's movement in the form of a specialist portal. The aim is to reflect the diverse points of view of the women's movements as completely as possible.
