General information

How can students who have not yet received a student card identify themselves as students? (9 April 2020)

You can temporarily prove your status as an enrolled student by carrying a certificate of enrolment together with an identity card/passport.

You will be informed as soon as possible how you can receive your RUBCard. At present, personal delivery is not possible. At this point we ask you to be patient.

I have lost my student card, how can I get a new one? (8 April 2020)

Please write an e-mail from your RUB e-mail address to immatrikulation@uv.rub.de and report the loss.
Please attach a passport photo and the receipt for the payment of the 15 EUR fee for the replacement as a scan.

Find out more about the payment details here (german website).

Please also indicate the postal address to which the new ID card should be sent.
The colleagues will then generate a new badge and send it by mail.
Please understand that the processing currently takes a few days.

How can students enrolled after 13 March use the online services of the RUB? (17 April 2020)

RUB-LoginID

On your matriculation (enrolment) you received a so-called RUB-LoginID. This is a personal identifier (key) for direct access to a number of online services that the Ruhr-Universität offers its students. It begins with the first letters of your last name plus an arbitrary sequence of further letters; Max Mustermann would for example be mustemf2.

After your matriculation (enrolment), you must set a password for this RUB LoginID by clicking on this link: Click on “Passwort setzen / zurücksetzen” (“set/reset password”).

Store all information about your RUB LoginID and password in a safe place; you will use them frequently while you’re at RUB.

Email adress

On your matriculation (enrolment) you received a RUB email address. It plays a crucial role while you’re at RUB, as it is used for almost all correspondence you receive from the teaching staff, the registrar’s office and the examinations office.

It follows the format “>First name<.>Last name<@ruhr-uni-bochum.de”, e.g. Max.Mustermann@ruhr-uni-bochum.de.

You can access your emails via the RUB eCampus. Please note: The login name for retrieving your mails is your LoginID. You can find further information on how to use your mailbox here.

eCampus

You can use the RUB eCampus to manage your studies online. You use the platform to register for lectures, seminars and exams, create your individual timetable, print your Studienbescheinigung (student registration confirmation certificate) and manage your personal data.

eCampus

Log in with your RUB LoginID & password and, if applicable, your smartphone.

If you have enrolled for an economics degree, an engineering degree or the “Applied Computer Science” degree programme, you will use an additional platform called “FlexNow” to register for exams or to print an overview of your credits. The relevant information is available here.

How can I receive a Transcript of Records? (26 March 2020)

With a smart card reader you can access FlexNow and E-Campus even from outside the campus and download a current Transcipt of Records. If this is not possible, you can contact the staff of the examination offices by email.

If you have paid neither your social contribution fee (Sozialbeitrag) on time nor the late fee in case of late payment, you will not be able to print out a certificate of enrolment.

In this case, you have received an email to your RUB email address on 15 March with all the information about the late fee.
