How to get to us

By car

The Ruhr region of Germany is exceptionally well-connected to the motorway network, making it quick and easy to reach Ruhr-Universität Bochum by car. The most convenient route is via the Bochum/Witten junction (A43 and A44). Leave the A43 motorway at junction 19 (Bochum-Querenburg) and follow the signs to ‘Ruhr-Universität’.

Where to park at RUB

By public transport

The underground line U35 (towards Hustadt/Ruhr-Universität) will take you quickly (in about ten minutes) and conveniently from Bochum’s central railway station to the University. Services depart every five minutes at peak times. You will need to buy a ticket in ‘Preisstufe A’ and stamp it before you board the train (there are machines by the accesses to the platform).

How to get from ‘Ruhr-Universität’ underground stop to our offices:

After exiting the station, turn right and cross the pedestrian bridge onto the university campus. Cross the campus, keeping to the right (see dotted line). You will see the University library to your left. Go down the steps and turn right as soon as you can. After this, keep left, passing the campus shop. If you go down the next flight of steps, you will see the GA building (the first tall building, in yellow and black) and its entrance in front of you. Once inside, go through the building (going south) and take one of the lifts on your right to the sixth floor. Room 51 is on the left-hand side.
