DOI service of the UB

Digital Object Identifier, or DOI for short, ensure the permanent findability of electronic publications and research data. The resulting citability and the linking of the data to a publication have a positive influence on the scientific reputation. The University Library Bochum is the contact for DOI registration for

• grey literature
• research data and other non-textual materials
• articles in open access journals of the Ruhr University Bochum

It does this in cooperation with the Technische Informationsbibliothek Hannover (TIB), which provides the technical infrastructure to register DOIs with DataCite as well as its own member of CrossRef.
