Information for authors

Using the RUB repository  , you can make previously published articles accessible in open access (‘self archiving’).

According to SHERPA / RoMEO's  (University of Nottingham (UK)) website, more than 60% of all scientific publishers around the world already allow the parallel open access publication of articles published in their journals.

Which versions of your article can you archive in the RUB Open Access Repository?

It is possible to archive the following versions:

  • the published article (publisher’s version),
  • the manuscript version as cleared for publication (post print version).

How can you find out whether you are permitted by the publisher to self-archive your publication?

Frequently, these matters are governed by the author's publication agreement with the publisher. A first indication regarding publishers and their attitude to open access is the directory SHERPA / RoMEO.  If you require assistance with the clarification of rights, please do not hesitate to contact us (phone: 0234 / 32-22053) or send an e-mail to: oa@rub.de.
