DAAD Prize 2020 for Lorna Daryl Ngole Noumegne

This year's DAAD Prize was awarded to Lorna Daryl Ngole Noumegne from Cameroon who studies in the Master's programme Electrical and Information Engineering.

The award of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is granted to international students who execute outstanding academic performances and demonstrate exceptional social engagement. The award includes a prize of €1000.

Dr. Christopher Baer, member of the institute of electronic circuits, nominated this year’s awardee. Prof. Dr. Weiler, Chairman of the selection committee, awarded the prize. A selection committee of the International Office and other faculties of Ruhr-Universität selected Noumegne for the award. She is recognized not only for her outstanding academic performances in Electrical and Information Engineering, but also for her social engagement in the IEEE SIGHT group where she supervises student activities, supports first semester students and contributes to the development of an international cooperation.

The DAAD is one of the most significant funding organisations for international exchange of students and researchers all over the world and annually funds around 150 international students studying at RUB. Additionally, they also sponsor international students taking part in special projects, and RUB students who are studying abroad.
