VISIT OF THYSSENKRUPP WITH REGUGEE PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
On Tuesday, 02 June 2019, 8 participants of the study preparatory programme "Integra" of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum visited the Thyssenkrupp corporate group.
Thyssenkrupp AG is a German industrial group specialized in steel processing. The group has its headquarters in Essen. Thyssenkrupp was established in 1999 through the merger of Friedrich Krupp AG Hoesch-Krupp with Thyssen AG and employs nowadays around 161,000 people worldwide.
The visit to the Thyssenkrupp corporate group is part of a series of events in the Integra programme in which participants are given an insight into the diversity of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum study courses by means of illustrative examples.
A tour of the Bochum production facility, in which steel sheets are produced for example for car manufacturers gave participants an insight into the diversity of work areas, from craftsmen/craftswomen and engineers to economists, in a corporate group like Thyssenkrupp.
Afterwards, the participants were able to discuss their study options at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum with a student from the economics student council and to clarify questions.
