Integra day trip to Hattingen
On Sunday, 30.06.2018, the participants of the study preparatory programme "Integra" of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum took part in a day trip to Hattingen.
The day began with a visit to the LWL Industrial Museum. Here the participants were able to discover the old grounds of the Henrichshütte, learn about the history of iron and steel and climb up the old blast furnace. Afterwards, a city tour through the old town of Hattingen took place. Due to many medieval half-timbered houses, the church of St. George, the Bügeleisenhaus and much more, the participants were able to learn a lot about the history of the city and life in the Middle Ages. In the afternoon, during a picnic the participants ate in a relaxed environment, played Frisbee and enjoyed the beautiful weather at the Ruhr river.
