Visit of minister Svenja Schulze at RUB

In the past student applicants from Russia and neighbouring countries were not allowed to study in Germany directly after their secondary school. First they had to study at least one year at a university in their home countries or to attend a preparation course at a “Studienkolleg” in Germany. Recently the federal state “Nordrhein-Westfalen” changed the law to make the application easier, they support different projects at five universities to make it easier for international students.
The projects “Studienstart Direkt” and in cooperation with Goethe Institute “Studienbrücke Deutschland” were realized by “Ruhr-University Bochum”. Current each project has ten students enrolled, next year twenty new students should join. In this context minister Schulze visited the students and other university representatives to hear about their experiences. She said, that we need different offers for students to develop and the Ruhr-University gives it to international students, so that they can study without delay.
