UAMR: Bridge to Brazil

Brazil is the fifth largest nation worldwide with great ambitions in many fields including education. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Radtke, Rector of Universität Duisburg-Essen, went there for a visit to see it for himself, acting as a representative for the University Alliance Metropolis Ruhr (UAMR). During his stay he also signed several collaboration and partnership agreements. The picture above shows Prof. Dr. Ulrich Radtke (on the left) with Prof. Dr. Marcio de Castro Silva Filho, director of international relations at CAPES, the Brazilian partner organisation of DAAD, shortly after successfully establishing a collaboration agreement.

A solid framework

The goal is to establish a solid framework for future collaborations with leading universities located in this up-and-coming knowledge-based, economic region. "We have established and strengthened good contacts with universities and academic exchange organisations, which give us reason to expect a promising outlook in several fields", said Prof. Dr. Ulrich Radtke.
