SPEED Training Workshop at RUB

As part of the Erasmus+ SPEED project, a Training of Trainers Workshop was organized at Ruhr-Universität Bochum from 22 to 26 June 2026. The workshop brought together participants from SPEED partner universities in Egypt, Germany, Norway, Tunisia and Palestine. Organized and supported by the Research Group Mechanics of Adaptive Systems (MAS) and the Institute for Power Systems Technology and Power Mechatronics (EneSys), the workshop aimed to strengthen participants' competencies in several areas, including cutting-edge electric vehicle powering technologies and strategic energy transition goals.
Participants benefited from a diverse and engaging program that integrated expert lectures, practical workshops, laboratory visits, and scientific discussions with researchers, educators, and specialists from partner universities. The training provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences, fostering new academic partnerships, and enhancing the participants’ teaching capabilities and research expertise.

SPEED is an Erasmus+ capacity-building project that aims to strengthen
education and training in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies
across partner universities in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. The
project brings together universities and institutions to support the
development of modern engineering education in the field of electric
mobility. Further information about the project is available on the
official website: speed.rnu.tn.

The main goal of SPEED is to bridge the gap between academic education,
practical skills, and industry needs. To achieve this, the project first
identifies existing needs, capacities, and market demands. Based on
these findings, the partners develop academic modules, professional
training courses, and interactive learning materials. In parallel, SPEED
supports the enhancement of practical training through laboratories,
equipment, experimental manuals, and blended learning approaches.

A further key element of the project is knowledge exchange between
partners. Through workshops, training activities, and the establishment
of Centers of Excellence, SPEED aims to build long-term expertise,
improve teaching quality, and contribute to the sustainable development
of electric mobility education in the targeted region.
