The registration for the winter term is now closed. If you are interested in participating, you can already register for the summer semester and we will inform you, once the official registration period starts. The will tandem start with the beginning of the lecture period (April for the summer semestser / October for the winter semester).
For those who applied this semester but haven't heard back yet: we are still sorting things out and will inform you within the next couple of days, if a participation is still possible or not.
The tandem runs over the course of one semester. The information and introductory session will take place on October 18 at 4pm (Thursday); the reflexion session will be on December 7 at 4pm (Wednesday). In addition, we will probably offer a voluntary introduction session to problem-based learning, a method ideally suited for working in a tandem. All further information and dates will be announced here and send to the participants via email.
Since the winter semester 20/21 we have been coorperating successfully with Virginia Tech that we can offer more English native speakers as tandem partner to our students. Further cooperations are planned for the future.
In Tandem.MINT you can not only expand your intercultural skills and language knowledge, we also offer an introduction to problem-based learning now. This is a method to learn how to define problems independently that are based on relevant, contextual and real-life situations. By working on a problem together on the basis of prior knowledge, research and joint discussion, you can develop new subject-specific learning and thinking strategies that can be useful in later professional life.
A certificate of participation (Tandem.MINT certificate) will be issued under the following conditions:
