Christmas Reception of the Rectorate and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
In christmasy atmosphere, the annual Christmas reception of the Welcome Centre took place at the International Lounge on Wednesday. The rectorate and the Alexander von Humboldt foundation had invited all guest researchers at RUB, their families, hosts and colleagues to a comfy get-together with biscuits and mulled wine.
Professor Ulf Eysel, prorector for research and structure and AvH legate of RUB, welcomed the guests at the christmasy adorned lounge together with Prof. Dr. Metzler-Nolte, prorector for young academics and international affairs.
The head of the office for European matters at the Alexander von Humboldt foundation, Dr Baszio, was glad about the great atmosphere and the high number of participants.
Beside typical German pastries, roasted apples, mulled wine and non-alcoholic glogg were offered for tasting. There was also a programme for children.
Prof. Metzler-Nolte, for whom December 1st was his first day in office as the new vice Rector for young scientists and international matters at RUB, announced the arrival of Santa Claus at the end of his speech and concluded "I am very glad that I can finish my first day in office with this nice and important duty".
