Orientation Course for international students in winter term 2015/16
Welcome to Bochum! This year over 101 international exchange and regular students swarmed the RUB Campus to attend the Orientation Course which was organised and managed by RUBiss.
For three weeks (September, 18 - October, 09 2015) international students explored the campus with their assigned tutors, overcame the many difficulties of the German language and experienced the city with all its cultural diversity. Supported by the RUBiss team, many bureaucratical obstacles could be handled with ease and there was time for what really matters – thought-provoking workshops concerning intercultural learning, exciting extracurricular activities (including the very best the Ruhr Area has to offer) and socializing with RUB-students as well as international students. Because of the daily German language course, the sheer amount of information and the many guided tours, many of the students may feel already like citizens of Bochum when they embark on their studies.
This Orientation Course takes place every winter semester. Because of the popularity of the course, we recommend signing up early. International students that arrive at a later stage of the month can participate in the Orientation Week programme.
