ISB (International Student barometer): Presentation of results

In winter semester 2010/11, Ruhr-Universität Bochum took part in the world’s largest (international) student survey, the "International Student Barometer" for the first time. 823 students from BA to PhD level participated and gave their feedback on topics such as study satisfaction/ teaching quality, social factors, support at the university or living quality. Basic results were presented on March 7th by a representant of i-graduate, who is handling the survey. Especially in questions regarding application procedure, first contact and arrival, RUB got attested outperforming qualities.

Prize winner among RUB students

During the next weeks, the International Office will continue the evaluation. The analysis will then show in detail what international students value and where further improvements could lead to even more satisfaction. From now on, RUB will participate in the survey every year, to regularly receive a qualified feedback on international student satisfaction and thereby its internationalisation process, as far as concerning students.

Alicia Vera, RUB student from Mexico, is already more than satisfied: she won the price of 1.000€ which was raffled among all participating international students in Germany, which was handed her by Vice Rector for Internationalisation, Prof. Dr. Nils Metzler-Nolte.
