Guerilla Art from Bochum at the University of Tasmania

RUB student Michael Fendel is currently at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, taking part in the AEN Utrecht Network Exchange Programme. In order to make Ruhr-Universität Bochum better known to UTAS, he set up a guerilla art exhibition with financial support from the International Office.
Not long before his exchange he discovered an exhibition of black and white portraits displaying students from Bochum in the Centre of Art and Music. He immediately contacted Felix Freier, head of photography, and asked whether it would be possible to display these photos at the partner university under the name "25± - Students in Focus."

Self-made paste improves RUB’s reputation

He mounted he photos single-handedly in a tunnel on the UTAS campus using a self-made paste consisting of flour, sugar, water and vinegar. As this underpass is used by many people on a day-to-day basis, the students from Bochum were amongst the crowds of UTAS students. The posters aim to arouse their interest in RUB and possibly an exchange visit.
