Collaboration with Stellenbosch University in South Africa

On 5 December, Prof. Dr. Nico Koopman, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, Prof. Dr. Isolde Karle, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Protestant Theology at RUB and Prof. Dr. Elmar Weiler, Rector of RUB, signed a letter of intent for future collaborations. Many things have been planned for the years to come, including a PhD student exchange programme between the two universities.
After attending an international, theological workshop, Prof. Dr. Günter Thomas from the Chair of Systematic Theology invited his colleagues from Stellenbosch to a meeting with the Rector of RUB to make arrangements for future collaborations.
The workshop was able to take place because the German Research Foundation approved an application requesting funding to set up a collaboration with partner institutions in South Africa and Taiwan.
