Criminal Litigation – Perspectives from the bench - 20 June 2012
A video conference on the topic of “Criminal Litigation – Perspectives from the bench” will take place in the law department's "Gerichtslabor" (room GC 03/49) on 20 June 2012 between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. This conference will take a closer look at criminal litigation from a judge’s point of view and enables professional exchanges between lawyers from the USA and Germany. Three lawyers will attend from both the USA and Germany and a live video conference with West Virginia will make communication between the two countries possible. The event will be moderated by Professor Dr. Peter A. Windel, professor for procedural law and civil law, and Dr. Mark McMillian, criminal defence lawyer from Charleston, West Virginia, who has already given several speeches in the "Gerichtslabor" during the last semesters. A speech at the beginning of the event will serve to acquaint the audience with US-American criminal proceeding.
