5 years of UAMR: The international Ruhr region
Socialising, networking, initiating collaborations: The three international offices belonging to the University Alliance Metropolis Ruhr (UAMR) represent the Ruhr region on a global level and promote its strengths in the areas of research and study. The Ruhr region’s three universities which formed the alliance have gained a foothold in North America, South America and Russia.
They have initiated numerous exchange programmes, scholarship programmes and research collaborations in a short space of time and are therefore making a valuable contribution towards internationalisation in the Ruhr region.
New York, Rio de Janeiro, Moscow
Top US-American students are coming to the Ruhr region via a new scholarship programme, and just as many Brazilian students gain funding from this programme to study at universities throughout Germany. Six joint degree programmes are also being set up in cooperation with Russian universities. The UAMR’s three international offices in New York, Moscow and Rio de Janeiro/São Paulo are operating under the name “Consortium of the Ruhr-Area Universities” (ConRuhr).
