PAD Looks for Foreign Language Assistants
Until 1 December 2011 students of foreign languages can apply for the Foreign Language Assistant Programme of the Padagogic Exchange Service (PAD). RUB students have the opportunity to hand in their application documents at Bezirkregierung Düsseldorf. PAD Foreign Language Assistants (FSA) will work at a school abroad (in Canada at a college) during the school year 2012/13.
Above all, future teachers are eligible for the programme. They will work at a school/college either in Australia, Belgium (Wallonia), China, France, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Switzerland, Spain or the United Kingdom. One of their areas of study has to be English, Italian, French, Spanish or Sinology depending on the host country they choose. Some countries also accept students from other areas of study who are able to demonstrate proficiency in the country's language.
First and foremost, PAD Foreign Language Assistants will assist teachers in German classes. It is the assistant's job to encourage their students' interest in German and Germany. During their internship, FSA receive subsistence payments from the host country.
