Objectives:
Within this work package the application layer architecture of the
embedded multi-operating system / multi-core computing environment will be defined.
With respect to the project scope, we consider the applications being any kind of software
running on top of an operating system, including end-user applications,
multimedia codecs and frameworks as well as protocol stacks.
The work within this work package includes
- Requirements definition of the software application layer
- Partitioning of the embedded software architecture layer and development of
software components with respect to multimedia and communication protocols.
- Evaluation and development of application software design techniques for multi-core
- Benchmarking of critical components
Software components developed in this work package will also be used to support the
demonstration activities in WP5.
