Current recruitment status
The search for eligible patients was launched in February 2014. After some initial difficulties, patient recruitment gathered momentum in the course of the year. The number of practices successfully recruiting patients for study participation increased continuously. Currently, 19 practices are recruiting patients for the study.
At the end of July 2016, 320 of the 375 patients to be included were participating in the study, and had been allocated to one of the three treatment groups. The recruitment rate is 11 patients per month over the whole recruitment period. Therefore, the study team is confident to recruit the residual 55 patients in the remaining 5 months.
The study team acknowledges the ongoing efforts of participating rheumatologists in recruiting patients.
