Profile

Selim Aslantaş works as lecturer for Turkish and Ottoman languages at the Department of Oriental and Islamic Studies at Ruhr University Bochum. From 1998 to 2017 he was active in research and teaching at the Department of History at the Hacettepe University Ankara where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in History in 2005 with the thesis titled “Serbian Uprisings in the Ottoman Empire (1804-1815)”. In 2014 he qualified as associate professor in political history. From 2017 to 2019 he lectured Turkish at the Institute of Oriental and Asian Studies-Department of Islamic Studies and Middle Eastern Languages at Bonn University.
