Peter Tully obtained a BA in Classics and Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford, followed by an MA in Philosophy at King's College London.

In 2024, he joined the Avicenna Live (ALIVE) research project, working on the philosophy of Abū Sahl al-Masīḥī (d. 401/1010), a physician and philosophy who taught and worked alongside Avicenna.
