University Council and Rectorate of Ruhr University Bochum at ZESS: Current work of Research Group 5620 presented

On February 13, 2026, the University Council and Rectorate of Ruhr University Bochum met at the ZESS research building. One of the items on the agenda of the two central committees was a tour of the research building, conducted by ZESS Director and FOR 5620 subproject leader Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Kuhlenkötter.
During this tour, Dominique Piorreck and Jan Schachtsiek presented the robot cell that is at center of FOR 5620 and the latest research results. The presentation met with great interest and led to an intensive exchange on development prospects and further potential of the research work. 

Background: University Council
The University Council of Ruhr University Bochum consists of seven members who are appointed for five years. It assumes a direct strategic function for the development of the university. Its tasks include participating in the election of the university management, advising the rectorate, and bringing external input from business and society into central decision-making processes.
