Within the scope of the exchange programs at Ruhr-University Bochum, the department has exchange programs with the following Korean universities:

- Kyungpook National University, Daegu
- Soongsil University, Seoul
- Sogang University, Seoul
Furthermore, the department maintains close and productive connections to the Korea Foundation, the Daesan Foundation, and the Korea Literature Translation Institute.
