M3-ESR: Physiological measurements of compound action potentials to improve CI stimulation
The performance of CIs degrades with more complex signals, such as speech in the presence of noise. Transmission of temporal and spectral information requires that the corresponding information is adequately encoded and conveyed through the stimulated neural interface. In this project we aim to develop a model for a nerve fibre population that is based on physiologically obtained electrical compound action potentials (ECAPs) and spread of excitation functions.
