President Truman's Radio Address on his Veto of the Taft-Hartley Act,
June 20, 1947

Radio address to the American people on the presidential veto of the Taft-Hartley Bill. Truman claims the bill is bad for labor, bad for management, and bad for the Nation. The President claims the restrictions that the bill places on workers go far beyond what the American people believe and he would not, under any circumstances, sign the bill.
