Research Area

Peer Decker started his studies in Mechanical Engineering at Ruhr-University with the beginning of the winter term 2008. In the 5th semester he focused on his studies on Materials Engineering. During the period between June 2011 and December 2012 he was a student worker at the chair of Materials Science. There he built a creep test stand for thermoplastic polyurethanes forming his semester thesis. During his bachelor thesis he analyzed the dislocation density in creep samples made of the nickel-base superalloy LEK94. Since December 2012 Peer Decker was working at the chair of MEMS materials as a student worker writing his master thesis about the characterization of Mn-Fe-P materials libraries. Right now he is working as a doctoral student since September 2014. He is analyzing the materials systems La-Fe-Si and Mn-Fe-P with special regard to their magnetocaloric properties.
