Professor Heinrich Theodor Gr\u00fctter (*1957) is Director of the Ruhr Museum in Essen. He studies History and German literature at the Ruhr-Universit\u00e4t Bochum (RUB) and was research associate at the RUB as well as the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) and the Ruhrlandmuseum Essen.\u00a0 As project manager, he was in charge of establishing the new Ruhr Museum at Zollverein, to which he has been appointed Director. He was responsible for several internationally prestigious exhibitions on the Ruhr Area like “200 years of Krupp – Visting a Myth” (2012). “1914 – In the Middle of Europe: The Rhineland and the First World War” (2914) or the recent special exhibition “Rock and Pop in the Ruhr Area” (2016).\u00a0 In his research he focuses on history of the Ruhr Area, the topics theory and didactics of history, historic representation as well as history and culture of remembrance. In 2013 Theor Gr\u00fctter was appointed Honorary Proefessor at the Humanities Department of the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is editor of several anthologies and catalogues and permanent lecturer at the RUB and UDE.<\/p>\n
