Duisburg: Lehmbruck-Museum

Next to Museum Küppersmühle, Lehmbruck-Museum is the best known art venue in Duisburg. It houses an outstanding collection of modern and contemporary art, and provides a comprehensive overview over the creative work of sculptor Wilhelm Lehmbruck from Meiderich (1881–1919). It was built by the sculptor's son Manfred (1913–1992) in 1964, who wished to thus promote his father's oeuvre of sculptures and paintings. Lehmbruck-Museum is situated in the city of Duisburg and is surrounded by Immanuel-Kant-Park, where more than 40 sculptures by international artists can be freely explored.
