Railway museum

The Ruhr bank in the south-western part of Bochum is where the railway museum Eisenbahnmuseum Bochum-Dahlhausen is situated, Germany's largest private museum of its kind. The heart of the exhibition is the 14-stand locomotive shed with a 20-metre turntable. The collection includes more than 120 rail vehicles from the years 1853 to 1976, many of which are still fully functional. Railway romantics will particularly enjoy the trips through the Ruhr valley, for which historic locomotives and carriages are set in motion and where visitors can relive the flair of traveling in the old days.
