Summary: The National Research Data Infrastructure (German: Nationale Forschungsdateinfrastruktur, NFDI) will be a distributed network of infrastructures for research data in Germany. The creation of this network will be supported by the Joint Science Conference (Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz - GWK) funding of scientific consortia.

National Research Data Infrastructure

Over the next ten years, the Joint Science Conference (Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz - GWK) will support the establishment of a National Research Data Infrastructure (German: Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur - NFDI). The funding aims to establish a distributed network of research data management services and infrastructures to ensure data management and exchange, interoperability and sustainable access to research data.1

Researchers or scientific institutions have formed joint consortia with infrastructure facilities for proposal submission in the next three years.
