Anna Welpinghus is a PhD student in Bochum since January 2010. She is writing a thesis on evolutionary and social constructionist theories of emotions, supervised by Albert Newen. Until 2012, she was also part of of the interdisciplinary project “Understanding Other Minds” led by Albert Newen (philosophy) and Georg Juckel (psychiatry).
In October 2004, she took up her studies in philosophy, political science and psychology at Humboldt-University in Berlin. She received her “Magister Artium” degree in 2009 which a Magister thesis on appropriateness conditions for emotions. Before that, Anna Welpinghus studied liberal arts and sciences at University College Maastricht where she had the opportunity to take classes in a wide range of subjects. She graduated from Maastricht as a Bachelor of Arts in January 2006.
