This website presents the research project entitled „Situated Cognition. Perceiving the world and understanding other minds“, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. Here you find information about the team, publications, talks and events in the first phase between 2014 and 2019. In December 2018, the Volkswagen Foundation granted three more years of funding, in concert with Ruhr-University Bochum, based on evaluations by independent external reviewers. The project leader is Tobias Schlicht, Lichtenberg-Professor of Philosophy with a focus on Consciousness and Cognition. The research group is based at the Institute of Philosophy II of Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany.


The main focus of research is on situated aspects of Perception and Social Understanding.
