Structural Change in the Ruhr Area and Sustainable Integrated Land Management in Former and Present Mining Areas in China

In the Sino-German year of Science and Education 2009/2010 the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany supports bilateral projects, events and workshops that encourage bilateral cooperation of science, technology and education. The motto is: "Together on the Way to Knowledge".

In spring 2009, the Geography Department of the Ruhr-University Bochum started a project on "Sustainable Integrated Land Management in Former and Present Mining Areas" with several Chinese partners. Less than a month ago, the German delegation of 3 professors and 6 young scientists of the Ruhr-University returned from their first research-trip to China. Now they want to share their experiences and first results of their integrated, interdisciplinary bilateral research.

The Geography Department of the Ruhr-University Bochum hence invites all international scholars and interested public to the following exhibition:
