Pedro Carneiro promovierte in Geschichtwissenschaft an der Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). 2018 wurde seine Doktorarbeit mit dem Forschungspreis
des Nationalarchivs von Brasilien ausgezeichnet. Zwischen 2015 und 2016 hatte er die Möglichkeit, als Gastwissenschaftler am Institut für Soziale Bewegungen
der Ruhr-Universität Bochum zu arbeiten. Pedro hat als Berater und Forscher in mehreren internationalen Organisationen gearbeitet. Vor kurzem war er Postdoktorand,
der an innovativer Forschung im Bereich der digitalen Geschichte an der Fluminense Federal University (Rio de Janeiro, Brasilien) arbeitete.
Seit 2022 ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Projekt Forschendes Lernen mit Oral History in der Geschichtswissenschaft (FLOH) an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
