Graduation Day 2008
This year's Graduation Day was a joyful and colourful presentation of the IGSN's work.
The day began with the opening speech by Prof. Dr. Onur Güntürkün, Speaker of the IGSN.
Following the speeches several IGSN students (Marek Barwinski, Nora Cavara, Lars Dittrich, Hardy Hagena and Areh Mikulić)
presented their current work to a packed audience. This, in turn, was followed by the poster presentations, which took place in a friendly andcordial atmosphere.
The afternoon programme was started with the award ceremony of the children's painting competition "My brain and I".
The awards were presented by the Rector of the Ruhr-University, Prof. Dr. Weiler and the Director of the IGSN, Prof. Dr. Manahan-Vaughan.
We would like to thank all the children, who made this afternoon such a special event.
After the children's award the graduation ceremony proper was opened by the Rektor of the Ruhr-Universität, Prof. Dr. Weiler, where we were delighted
to present 16 PhD certificates for the year 2008.
The successful and eventful day was brought to a close in a cosy restaurant in Bochum, good food and wine accompanying relaxed and happy people.
