The content of the Masters Studies ECUE includes European, social, cultural, economical and political developments, structures and processes. ECUE gives the opportunity to students to do in-depth analyses and studies with these topics with the help of a multiperspective and interdisciplinary linkage of the knowledge of involved subjects (Economics, History, Cultural Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Ethics). The students will be able to get analytical, methodological, communicative, social and cultural competences. With these skills the students can compare, evaluate and analyses topics related to Europe and the European Union in a scientific manner.

The new module structure of ECUE is valid since winter semester 2014/15.

The main content of the program remains similar. Improvements and changes are provided in the items internship, research methods, downsizing the exam load and opportunities to set up own study focuses.

The following studies and module structure is due to expire with the 15th academic year (start in winter semester 2013/14):
Altogether nine modules are provided. Within eight thematically adjusted modules the convergence and divergence of the European social, cultural and economical area in comparative perspective will be developed, reflected and analyzed together with the students.

The ninth module completes the content modules with interdisciplinary colloquia and an obligatory excursion. Within the colloquia interdisciplinary interrelation will be researched, intercultural competences will be trained, research methods will be deepened and the topic of the master theses will be prepared. Each of the eight thematically modules consists of two courses. The grade of the modules will be incorporated into the final grade. The module grades will be gained either by adding partial course performances or in combination with a module examination.
