The Ruhr-Universität Bochum invests its many years of experience in the field of knowledge exchange. It contributes its knowledge to the benefit of society at the interfaces of academia, economics and public relations, by means of research cooperations, continuing education, and setting up contact with experts or offers from the “Young Uni” for pupils.
Transfer of Research
The aim of transfer of research is to put the results of research into practice as quickly as possible. To help achieve this, the RUB maintains many contacts to companies and supports many members in putting marketable ideas into practice.
Continuing Education
With its academically founded and practice-oriented continuing education offer the RUB offers new chances for professions ranging as far as help with retraining. Anyone from business and the general public, anyone interested in continuing education, guests and university members who are interested are all invited.
Dialogue
The RUB sees itself not as an ivory tower but a place that makes science available to everyone. Anyone with a thirst for knowledge, for instance, will find insights into current research that are understandable to everyone at lecture series. School projects for pupils of all ages are aimed at generating enthusiasm for science. Media representatives will find competent discussion partners on the most varied of topics.
