Research Area

Mr. Helge Sören Stein studied Physics with focus on material science and solid state physics from at the Georg-August-University Göttingen were he focused on the combinatorial study of perovskites for light induced energy conversion. Starting September 2013 he joined WDM as a PhD candidate with a scholarship from the International Max Planck Research School for Surface and Interface Engineering in Advanced Materials (IMPRS-SurMat). His research topic focuses on the combinatorial development of thin film photocathodes for solar water splitting. Here he is investigating the quaternary systems of Fe-Cr-Al-O, Cu-Si-Ti-O and Cu-Co-Cr-O to stabilize intermediate bandgap materials with p-type conductivity.
