Gymnasium
In October 2011, RUB’s extracurricular sports programme took possession of their first off-campus sports facility. The gymnasium, located on the Westring in the centre of Bochum, has around 500 square metres of open floor space and is ideally suited for the highly popular group health and fitness classes as well as for ball sports (badminton, volleyball).
Significant expansion of university sport
Renting the gymnasium is one of many measures taken to substantially expand the university’s extracurricular sports programme. The gym is fully integrated into the university network (telephone and WLAN) and equipped with a sound system and sport equipment for all available classes.
The sports facility is centrally located, just two minutes on foot from the Rathaus Nord stop on the underground line CampusLinie U35.
