Humanities Laboratory for School Goers
In the autumn of 2009, the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) was the first university in Germany to found a humanities laboratory for school goers. We are now continuing down the path taken: A new building is being constructed at the entrance to the university which will house the humanities laboratory for school goers. Here, school goers can get to know the humanities and social sciences as a lively and exciting discipline.
The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is funding the establishment of the laboratory to the tune of 1.5 million euros. This enables us to realise a project that is unique in the German scientific landscape. The new humanities laboratory for school goers is organised under one roof with the RUB’s Alfried Krupp school goers’ laboratory with scientific-technical focus, which is also funded by the Krupp Foundation. In this way, all twenty faculties(RUB’s disciplinary institutional units) now participate in the school goers’ laboratory.
