ZEMOS
ZEMOS is an essential part of the collaborative research proposal RESOLV (Ruhr Explores Solvation). The new building will offer space for 100 scientists ranging from chemists, biochemists to engineers. Bridging the different and versatile disciplines will be realized in the “Center for Solvation Science”
Library
The library system will be architecturally and organisationally “without borders” – entirely in the spirit and for the good of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum community “universitas”.
Enlargement "Beckmanns Hof"
On behalf of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB), the “Beckmanns Hof – International Convention Centre of RUB” has been welcoming international guests for 25 years. The convention centre provides a venue for lively exchanges – in a very special atmosphere.
ID
The new building ID is inviting – and exemplary in many ways for all the other buildings of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) after the modernisation.
IC building
In contrast to the new building ID, IC is an existing building that has been undergoing refurbishment since August 2011. Following the interior refit, refurbishment, and relocation, it is expected that the IC building will be back in use in time for the winter semester 2013/14.
GD
In order to be well prepared for the double intake of school leavers in 2013, and to push ahead with the campus modernisation which is already underway, the new building GD is planned in the humanities row.
New building for the Faculty of Sports Science
Construction of the new building for the Faculty of Sports Science on the Health Campus has been going on since April 2011. The building will replace the Unihochhaus West (UHW) high-rise, the former “home” of RUB’s athletes.
Uni-Bad swimming pool
After almost two years of restoration and refurbishment, the Uni-Bad swimming pool re-opened in October 2011, enabling RUB students studying sports to now once again train in the vicinity of the university.

Gymnasium
The gymnasium, located on the Westring in the centre of Bochum, has around 500 square metres of open floor space and is ideally suited for the highly popular group health and fitness classes as well as for ball sports (badminton, volleyball).

Here, school goers can get to know the humanities and social sciences as lively and exciting disciplines.
